Early Detection

OpeningAutism is a free informational resource for new parents and their healthcare providers.

Did you know the single most important factor in autism is early detection?
Did you know autism is detectable at a child’s first birthday?

Children show significant improvement when they have had at least two years of intervention before the age of six. The benefits of early intervention can be seen in a child’s IQ, behavior, and communication, which will continue throughout their childhood.

Unfortunately, the average age for a child to receive an autism diagnosis is between the ages of 4½ and 5 ½ years old.

We created OpeningAutism to make early detection the norm, and not the exception.  We want every child to reach his or her fullest developmental potential. Early detection combined with early intervention in children with autism can produce transformative results.

At Lineagen we firmly believe that we can change how autism is being detected and diagnosed, and we provide the tools to make this happen.

Opening Autism was developed to help raise awareness for the importance of the early diagnosis and treatment of autism. Through this community and related resources, parents and family members can learn more about the red flags for autism, options for screening and treatment, and where to turn in their local communities for clinical and personal support.

If you share our commitment to earlier diagnosis and treatment for autism, please feel free to share your stories and photos, peruse the informative videos, and visit our Parent Resources for more detailed information and support. Most of all, be sure to share this community with your friends and begin Opening Autism, and the door to earlier diagnosis and treatment.
